I know, I know…..it doesn’t seem like a big deal….and I almost missed it because of all the political happenings. The tag for the email said “GOOD NEWS”…and, well on this Tuesday, that could mean that a mayor is winning…but this is what it was letting me know!!!…. The National Womens Caucus for the Arts Exhibitions Committee is pleased to inform you, your work Have You Ever is selected by our juror Dr. Maura Reilly for the Occupy the Moment, Intersect History with Impact, the exhibition at Bridgeport Art Center, Chicago, IL. We anticipate a great turn out. Bridgeport Art Center is well established and will have the work on view to their collectors. The National WCA will have its reception during our conference and will also be producing a printed catalogue. I am a member of the Women’s Caucus for the Arts a fabulous national organization that supports artists throughout the US….and yes, in my book, this is a pretty big deal!
The piece they chose is one of my Spirit Houses. A three dimensional home that I have built from foamcore, covered with latex caulking and then painted with acrylics and Crackle Medium. It is lit from within and the layered photo and stacked gears are illuminated with this great glow.
